  • An emphasis was placed on refining research skills using the available library databases.

  • Distributed National Institutes of Health resources to the Spanish speaking community at the Binational Health Fair held at the Mexican Consulate General of Dallas. Communicated verbally in Spanish when able to better engage with participants.

  • Performed complex online searches based on client requests using MeSH effectively to enhance results. Displayed an understanding of MeSH terminology making searches more detail oriented.

  • Assisted in medical student training on EBM using PICO to establish relevant results.

  • Created a physical archival display containing archival items held within the library collection, including my written interpretations from the extensive research I performed.

  • Provided quality control of the library’s online training tools by utilizing my web searching abilities to discover broken web links as well as provide new link locations or more appropriate link usage.

  • Attended various research and faculty events on campus (Grand Rounds, Research Forums, Internal Review Board, etc.) which in turn reflected the importance of librarian presence.

  •  Contributed to team problem solving through staff meetings.

Payroll Analyst III                 November 2010 – June 2013

  • As part of the UNT Business Service Center initiative, worked closely with Human Resources, Time & Labor, and Benefits departments to process accurate payroll for all University of North Texas employees.

  • Instructed new payroll employees on payroll processes.

  • Answered payroll related questions presented by other payroll analysts, BSC internal departments, other academic/staff departments, employees, and outside agencies.

  • Delivered requested information in an accessible manner equivalent to the recipient’s level of understanding.

  • Handled complex technical tasks for large entities, including processing payrolls for over 10,000 employees as well as the payroll accounting general ledger.

  • Worked across departmental lines to investigate and correct errors and devise useful solutions.

  • Facilitated training sessions on current payroll products for incoming payroll personnel.

  • Maintained accurate payroll reporting by utilizing my researching skills to identify errors and effectively correct them.

  • Accurately completed complex state, local, and federal forms to eliminate the necessity for federal and state auditing.

  •  Employed as Administrative Assistant from July 2005 – April 2006.
